FILAMENT AMP WORKS, LLC

High-Voltage Custom Tube Amplifier Non-Liability Statement

DANGER: HIGH VOLTAGE / RISK OF ELECTROCUTION

Vacuum tube audio amplifiers operate with lethal direct current (DC) voltages—often ranging from 300V to over 700V DC on the plate supply rails (B+). Filter capacitors retain high-voltage charges even after the amplifier is turned off, standby is engaged, or the unit is disconnected from AC mains power. Touch hazards remain until capacitors are fully discharged and verified with a voltmeter.

1. Assumption of Risk & Operation

By acquiring, operating, servicing, or modifying this custom hand-built amplifier, chassis, circuit board, or kit (collectively, the "Equipment"), the user acknowledges the extreme electrical hazards inherent to vacuum tube circuitry. The user voluntarily assumes all risk of property damage, personal injury, electrocution, or death associated with the handling, testing, bias adjustment, maintenance, or operation of the Equipment.

2. User Modification & Circuit Alterations

This Equipment is a custom product. Any unauthorized modifications, component substitutions, circuit topology alterations (e.g., modifying power supply filtering, negative feedback, or ground bus structures), or improper tube biasing performed after delivery immediately void all express or implied support. Filament Amp Works, LLC/The Builder is not liable for circuit instability, component failure, transformer damage, or safety hazards resulting from third-party modifications or incorrect tube replacement.

3. Qualified Servicing Only

Internal access, maintenance, bias setting, and repair must be performed exclusively by experienced technicians familiar with high-voltage safety practices (including single-hand testing protocols, isolation transformer usage, and safe capacitor draining). Do not remove the chassis from the cabinet or remove protective shields if you are not trained in high-voltage electronics. All schematics, layout designs, board topologies, and related circuit documentation associated with this Equipment are proprietary to and the sole intellectual property of Filament Amp Works, LLC; unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or reverse-engineering is strictly prohibited.

4. Grounding & AC Power Requirements

The user is responsible for ensuring the Equipment is connected exclusively to a properly wired, grounded three-prong AC outlet (120V nominal as configured for US builds). Operating this Equipment without a safety earth ground connected directly to the chassis, using ground-lift adapters ("cheater plugs"), or plugging into improperly wired outlets creates severe shock hazards and waives all liability claims against Filament Amp Works, LLC/The Builder.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Filament Amp Works, LLC/The Builder shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages—including electrical shock, fire, property loss, or speaker damage—arising out of the operation, transport, or misuse of this Equipment.
